Title Research: Art of the Title

Image
My reason for looking at the art of the title site is because I want to develop an understanding on how a title design and title sequence is established. I want to know how the creators came up with their ideas in producing one. I also wanted to get an idea on how to create my own title design and sequence. What I saw from the art of the title site is different types of the sequences unfolding. As I observed the title sequences, I took notice of how each title sequences differed from each other. Through the title sequences, the individuality of the creator is shown. For example, the title sequence can be based off on the creator's personality, interests, creativity, etc. In some instances, the creator will use a title sequence to try to display a message or tell a story to the audience. As I was researching the site, I learned that title sequences are basically an introduction to the movie. They help engage the audience by implying what is about to start in a movie or TV show. The...

Title Research: Watch the Title Website

Image
I'm looking at the sites to have a better understanding of how a title of a movie is connected with the movie. When I was looking at the site, I saw a lot of different things such as Feature films, TV shows, event titles, games, cinema project, etc. It also had a lot of different categories in which we can find things in. The categories are title sequence, studio, designers and search. The website also had an interview section in which they interviewed different kinds of people in the film industry. We are studying the side to learn more about the title designs so we can create our own titles for our project in the right way. We looked at the event title where we learned that it takes a lot of time and thoughts into coming up with a title and making it. The title has to represent the film and what it's going to be about, meaning it should give off the vibe of the genre of the film. For example, if a film is going to be dark the title should have some kind of effect that repres...

  1. What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?     - This movie is a psychological thriller film that contains many of the same elements of our chosen genre. For starters, the storyline/plot of this movie contains a big mystery that is slowly revealed throughout the movie. Another element that is seen in this movie is suspense. Halfway through the movie we notice that things start to take a turn and from that point things get suspenseful. Furthermore, tension between the characters is another element that is seen in this movie. In this film there are two main characters who eventually realize the conflict and situation taking place. Upon realization, feelings between the two become very tense.                                                                 ...

Genre Decision Blog

All of the genres were very intriguing but, we have decided to do thriller. Moreover, the suspense, psychological and mystery side of thriller. The other genres didn't involve much mystery like thrillers do and my group and I wanted the mystery and suspense aspect in our film. Also, horror and thriller are almost alike. They contain many  of the same aspects such as camera angles, lighting, sound, and much more. Sometimes they may have similar plots/storylines too. However, horror movies differ from thriller because they display more of a scary horrific aspect. Horror movies usually contain ghost, demonic characters and activities, and much more unrealistic terrifying things. On the other hand, we have researched drama. Drama is great but it usually contains many problems/ conflicts and arguments which is why it is called drama.  Drama movies also deal with a lot of emotions whether it be happy, mad, or sad, the characters tend to be very emotional.  ...

Genre Research: Horror & Drama

This genre PowerPoint displays the many aspects that make up a horror movie. Horror movies contain many different features that you usually don't see in other movies. For example, they contain elements such as blood, jump scares, possessions, monsters, etc. Those are things that you would not typically see in any of the other genres. The common camera angles you would see are close-ups, low angles, and hand-held. As far as movements, there are many tilts, tracking, pans, fade-outs and zooms. The one aspect of horror movies that stands out the most is probably mise-en-scene. The costumes, makeup, setting, etc are usually displayed in a scary manner which is what distinguishes it. Horror movies also contain different sounds like loud bangs, screaming, crying, sudden and unpredictable frequency. In this Genre research PowerPoint, I researched many different aspects of thriller films. I have explained the many common features that are seen in thriller movies. Areas such as camera angles, lighting and sound were displayed and the common use of it in thrillers. I have also provided example of the specific term being used in a thriller movie. For example, I displayed an image of three-point lighting with an image from the thriller movie "Get Out".      To continue, I started off with the lighting aspect of thriller movies. One of the most common lighting is low-key lighting which is a sort of dark lighting. Another lighting that is often seen in thrillers is three-point lighting. This type of lighting comes from three different directions in order to present a sense of depth in the frame. Thrillers movies include many different lighting but these to are the most common ones that are seen.     Furthermore, the PowerPoint displays a series of c...

Starting the Final Task

Image
Hello, my name is Shaunette Robbins. I am an eleventh-grader who is currently attending Fort Lauderdale High. I am working with Sarayah, Dezyrae, and Guerline. I decided to work in a group because I personally believe that I always do well in group. Working in a group is much easier than working alone. Also, working with people helps me feel confident about my work. If i am confused about something, I can learn and understand through discussions with my group. It is much easier to work in a group because I will be able to plan and manage my time more effectively. My group and I can give and receive feedback on our ideas, so we can improve. I always do well in a group than I do while working alone. When I am working alone, I feel as if I do not do good of a job. When I am working alone, I become too much of a perfectionist and constantly judge my work, which does not always go well. From my past experiences, working alone can be quite stressful. I just do not feel confident about m...
