Introduction

Hello, my name is Shaunette Robbins. I am an eleventh grader who is currently attending Fort Lauderdale High School. I am taking AICE Media Studies because I would love to be more informed on the editing and production of films or movies. I believe that obtaining knowledge and understanding of how to analyze films would be pretty cool and interesting. 

My favorite film of all time has to be Avatar (2009) because I believe it was done extremely well. The visuals, the plot, the use of CGI, the intensity, the characters, etc. just blew me away. I would love to know more about what kind of cameras the production team used, how did they edit it, and how they made the CGI look so realistic. 


Something that I usually do in my free time is staying informed on endangered species. Growing up, I always had a passion for animals. Thanks to Nat Geo Wild and Animal Planet, I basically knew everything about the different species of animals. I quickly became fond of endangered species and those who are threatened. I am saddened by what these poor animals are going through, due to human activity and loss of habitat. Someday, I hope to contribute to saving them by donating money to trustworthy organizations and informing others.


One of my hobbies is sketching and coloring. I recently started, so I am still trying to figure out my art style. Sketching and coloring are very important to me because it helps ease my restless mind and helps me be calm. Another hobby is watching anime because I find it refreshing and entertaining. One of my favorite anime is Hunter x Hunter.


The daily goals that I try to achieve are to improve mentally and emotionally, have a healthier lifestyle, and to acquire happiness. To self reflect, I have a journal where I record my thoughts and experiences about my day. 

My plans for the future are to be financially stable, attend a good college, and go to nursing school. I also want a loving family of my own. One thing I really want to do most is to repay back my mom for everything she has done for me. I would love to become a registered nurse because I enjoy helping people in need. My mom is also an RN, so she inspired me to become one like her.

Editing

 After my group finished, I finally was able to get work done. My task was only to edit the mall and park scene. I think maybe Dezyrae wanted to edit the house scenes. I am not sure completely sure on who did it. Editing was very easy going. It was not difficult nor complicated at all. First, I made sure to go over every scene. I wanted to see if it followed the storyboard. I only obtained the scenes from the mall and park. The process of trimming went well. I did not have any difficulty with it. I trimmed the parts that were not needed. While trimming, I kept in mind that I did not want the videos to be too long. The final task should only be two minutes. Although, I had trouble editing the transitions. I was not sure which part to trim. So, the transitions are probably very bad. I probably could had done a better job for the transitions but it costed money to get access to the different transitions. I tried to use other editing apps. Creative Critical Reflection

1. My product uses conventions by that I clarified about the product to help readers to completely understand what my product is used for. I would say that this product is welcome to all hair types. Growing up, I struggled to find hair brushes that will not cause unnecessary damage to my hair. I have tightly coiled hair so, my hair is hard to tame. Those with the same hair type as me, or a hair type closer than it, finally know a product that is pain-free and detangles just fine. 2. My product engages with audiences by that we all struggled to find the right tools that would work for our hair. It is important for us to choose products that will work for our hair and prevent hair damage. This would be distributed as a real media text through a commercial. A commercial would do good at explaining this product more.   What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?  An element we'll be using in our final task is intense music. We want to create a lot of suspense in our movie. So when the girl receives the texts/letters, we'll use intense music. We'll also be using the element normality. The girl is going to pretend nothing is wrong during the task. The other girls won't know anything's wrong, so they'll also be acting normal. What elements of the genre did the movie have that you like? Intensity: At the beginning of the movie, Sandra is explaining to the kids that they must remain silent and alert.
