Critical Reflection Questions

 1) R&B is a genre that is combined with different elements of music. Indecisive (Favorite Song) is a combination of R&B and Hip Hop. A convention of R&B is that in modern R&B music videos, people, particularly men, may wear certain clothes to appear "swag." In the music video, my group member Roy is wearing this type of clothes. In R&B music videos, people express their individuality and display it through their unique sound. Roy has his own way of creating his music and he is confident with his individuality. The music video or song rather gives a view on a problem that can potentially have a negative effect on romantic relationships. During these times, people become unsure or indecisive about what they truly want. Do they want to be with a person in the long run or do they want to explore different options? Indecisive (Favorite Song) gives a perspective of an indecisive and conflicted person, which probably is what someone can relate to.  2)  As I ...

Music Video

The song's name is Indecisive by Roy. It is an R&B song. It is basically about a guy who is indecisive. He is conflicted and confused about making a decision. He is indecisive about his feelings towards a girl that he is interested in. He talks about the girl's character. He notices her flaws. Nonetheless, his attraction for her is still there. But, he is troubled. If he has a chance with her, then what would happen? Would it be all for nothing? Although he is indecisive, he still wants to have a chance with her. He knows what he wants, but at the same time, he does not know. This is mostly what this song is about. As for the original storyboard, it was not included in the music video. For something simple, my group and I decided to only record Roy. The song is about a boy in deep thought, so we thought this was for the best. In the music video, the boy is conflicted with his thoughts. He is walking while he is battling his thoughts. The colors of the music video help mat...

Filming process of music video

Image
For the music video, we had to choose a song. My group and I decided to use Roy's song, Indecisive. There was not much for the music video. All we had was Gabby's camera holder to allow us to film easily. We chose to record the music video outdoors. We decided to film at a community center. Filming outside helped provided natural lighting. This brightened up the music video. Instead of filming on multiple days, we only did it for one day, due to what's happening in the world right now. During the filming process, we made sure to keep many shots, to later edit it. Since the song, has a chill vibe to it, we decided to keep the music video simple. Gabby and I recorded Roy driving in his car. We made sure to capture where he turned left, due to it being mentioned in his song. We made sure to catch his facial expressions. Roy looks like he is in deep thought or he is simply vibing to the song. For the next scene, Roy was instructed to walk from a distance. Gabby and I decided th...
