Planning for my The Dr. Knot commercial

 Props

I decided to create a The Knot Dr. commercial. The main prop would be the Wet and Dry Detangler. Other props would include a styling chair, blow dryer, and a small handbag. 

Costumes

In my commercial, I would have two group members who will be present. I decided they would be a woman and a little girl. They would wear casual or simple clothing. The woman would be dressed in a beige shirt and comfortable fitting jeans, with heel boots. The little girl would be dressed in an oversized hoodie and black tights, with sneakers. The actresses would come in the salon with their hair tangled up and disheveled. 

Schedule

On 10/23/20, I research the conventions and codes of the commercial for The Knot Dr.

On 10/25/20, I establish my planning. Costumes, props, location, backup plan, etc.

On 10/27/20, I will create a storyboard for the 30 seconds commercial. 

On 10/29/20, I will film and record the commercial. 

On 10/31/20, I will edit the commercial and add the necessary touches. 

Location

The main location would be the hair salon. I will film the actresses before, during, and after while the product is being used. This will help show how long the detangler will work and how efficiently doing so.  The actresses will be filmed having their hair detangled while seated in the styling chair. 

The other location will be in front of a solid background. The actress will be filmed reviewing the product and expressing satisfaction. Before and after pictures will be shown. This will show the effectiveness of the product.

Backup Plan

Due to uncertain circumstances, I have a backup plan just in case. If the hair salon is not available, I could film the commercial at one of my associate's place with the needed equipment situated. If that is not possible, then I would just do everything in the second location. If one of the camerman is not present, then me or one of the actress can help film it.

Editing

 After my group finished, I finally was able to get work done. My task was only to edit the mall and park scene. I think maybe Dezyrae wanted to edit the house scenes. I am not sure completely sure on who did it. Editing was very easy going. It was not difficult nor complicated at all. First, I made sure to go over every scene. I wanted to see if it followed the storyboard. I only obtained the scenes from the mall and park. The process of trimming went well. I did not have any difficulty with it. I trimmed the parts that were not needed. While trimming, I kept in mind that I did not want the videos to be too long. The final task should only be two minutes. Although, I had trouble editing the transitions. I was not sure which part to trim. So, the transitions are probably very bad. I probably could had done a better job for the transitions but it costed money to get access to the different transitions. I tried to use other editing apps. Creative Critical Reflection

1. My product uses conventions by that I clarified about the product to help readers to completely understand what my product is used for. I would say that this product is welcome to all hair types. Growing up, I struggled to find hair brushes that will not cause unnecessary damage to my hair. I have tightly coiled hair so, my hair is hard to tame. Those with the same hair type as me, or a hair type closer than it, finally know a product that is pain-free and detangles just fine. 2. My product engages with audiences by that we all struggled to find the right tools that would work for our hair. It is important for us to choose products that will work for our hair and prevent hair damage. This would be distributed as a real media text through a commercial. A commercial would do good at explaining this product more. Genre Research: Birdbox

  What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?  An element we'll be using in our final task is intense music. We want to create a lot of suspense in our movie. So when the girl receives the texts/letters, we'll use intense music. We'll also be using the element normality. The girl is going to pretend nothing is wrong during the task. The other girls won't know anything's wrong, so they'll also be acting normal.
